MAFS UK Brad working in budget store after show axe for controlling behaviour

Brad Skelly, 28, is getting some cash behind him and has returned to his day job of stacking shelves in Savers.

After a brief stint on Married At First Sight UK, Brad was axed for displaying "controlling and coercive" behaviour towards his bride Shona Manderson. He's now back in his home town of Grimsby and working in the budget-friendly shop.

In a series of snaps posted to the Savers Grimsby Facebook page he posed in his uniform and lanyard while holding up products. A separate snap saw him holding a balloon which had the logo sprawled across it as he posed with his team.

Brad, who described himself as a model, vowed before going on the show that he "doesn't care what people think" of him as long as he is "being his authentic self".

But Brad soon had a lot of people sharing their thoughts on him as he displayed his new relationship to viewers after appearing on the show. He was quickly branded controlling by viewers online after a series of arguments with Shona.

They were booted off the programme by show experts and Shona claimed there was an off-camera incident which prompted his removal. She explained that in a huge row at a dinner party the experts intervened and opted to send them home.

After the show hit screens Brad released a video sharing a statement after he was inundated with backlash. He said he wanted to "apologise to absolutely anybody that my actions have offended" during the stint.

Brad added: "Now it has been aired I'm sorry that you all, including the people I was on the show with, got to see the worst sides of me during my time within the experiment.

"At present, I am experiencing some heavy flows of hatred and malice from people who have evidently built up a very very strong embedded opinion of me."

He explained that he was feeling "low and flat" which resulted in him becoming "very unhappy". While he stated that was no excuse, Brad said: "I do understand that the way I articulate my terminology can sometimes come across in a way that isn't intended to and I am really working on that."

Shona explained that she's "stronger than before" following the stint on the show and said she met someone who is the "kindest soul".
