Love Island favourite reveals huge new career change away from reality TV | The Sun

A LOVE Island favourite has revealed a huge new career change away from reality TV.

Back in January, we reported how Ovie Soko had gone back to his normal job four years after failing to find love on the series.

Ovie, 32, who won over fans on Love Island's 2019 instalment, had reverted to his impressive basketball player role on-court for the London Lions.

Now he has revealed a huge new career switch and will make the jump into basketball commentaryoff the court, as the British Basketball League's new lead analyst.

Promotional images for the channel show Ovie beaming at the camera while donning a white sports top.

His commentary will soon be aired on Sky Sports and Sky Sports' YouTube channel, as well as the League's own YouTube channel.

Channel bosses say the Love Islander will be challenged to "break down plays and analyse the strategies played out by each team on the court."

Gushing over his latest career switch Ovie, who has previously played for the Great Britain team, said: "Taking this next step with the British Basketball League – it feels like I’ve come full circle.

"I really enjoyed my time playing with the London Lions, and it feels great to be taking on this new challenge and be part of such a talented broadcast team this season.

"I feel that my experience in the British league, as well as my years playing in Europe, Japan and the U.S, allows me to bring some real depth of insight from the court."

Fans can tune in to hear Ovie one game a week on Sky Sports, while all other games will be available for free on the British Basketball League's YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, on Love Island, the athlete won over legions of fans with his kind nature and handsome looks.

During his stint on the matchmaking series, Ovie hit the big time when he came third with former girlfriend India Reynolds.

Yet the pair split four months after being rocked by cheating rumours.

They eventually called it quits due to "conflicting schedules".
