Conor McGregor shows off £50,000 platinum Rolex as UFC star heads out in lockdown amid Anderson Silva fight talks – The Sun

CONOR MCGREGOR makes no secret of enjoying the finer things in life, and has taken to Instagram to show his fans his latest prized possession – a £50,000 platinum Rolex watch.

The Irishman gave a cheerful update to followers on social media, grinning behind the wheel as his timepiece glistened on his wrist.

He accompanied the pictures with the caption: "Here’s some Muscles, some diamonds, and a smile for all my fans, I love yous all".

His new watch possesses a retail price of over £50,000 – although can currently be snapped up on sale for a still-hefty £40,600.

The platinum piece is described on its website as: "Worn by more presidents, leaders and visionaries than any other watch".

And you would imagine McGregor, 31, would be quite happy being described as at least two of those things…

His passion for wrist-wear is very much apparent, and only earlier this month he showed off another beautiful piece – a Patek Philippe model – one of only 25 ever made and nicknamed "The Hulk".

This time around, McGregor was enjoying a drive as he took a break from lockdown in the glorious sunshine.

He appeared completely relaxed and at will with the world, having just accepted a call-out to from veteran former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

The 45-year-old is on a run of just one official victory in his last eight octagon appearances, but called out the Notorious for a bout.

And McGregor, who appears to be waiting in the wings to potentially face the winner of a fight between Justin Gaethje and old foe Khabib Nurmagomedov in the lightweight division, yesterday tweeted his response.

It simply read: "I accept."

Silva had written on Instagram: “I have a huge admiration for the great athlete that Conor is and I believe this superfight would be something historic for the sport, neither of us has anything else to prove.

“I believe UFC and (MMA) fans would like to watch this great martial spectacle, testing my martial skills against him would be fantastic.”

And despite having never fought at higher than the 170lb welterweight limit, McGregor appeared to confirm on Twitter that he would be willing to face Silva as a middleweight.

He posted: "185! Rock in like Rousimar."
