Prince Archie tipped for ‘big moment’ at King Charles’ coronation if Sussex duo attend

Prince Archie will have his first “big moment” duringKing Charles’ Coronation if his parentsPrince Harry andMeghan Markle attend, aroyal expert claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announcedthey have received an invitation to the historic event on 6 May – but they have yet to say whether they intend to go.

OK! has previously revealed that Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, werenegotiating with Buckingham Palace about the terms of their attendance – with an important factor being the recognition of Archgie’s fourth birthday, which falls on the same day as the Coronation.

Palace officials are said to beplanning for the Sussexes to attend – but have also reportedlydrawn up a plan B in case they fail to show.

Now, royal commentator Andrea Caamano has speculated on how Prince Archie could appear in the Coronation proceedings should the Sussex family make an appearance, theExpress reported.

An appearance from the young royal would mark his first public appearance at a royal event.

Speaking on A Right Royal Podcast, Andrea said: "I expect to see Meghan and Harry and I do expect to see Archie. Archie will be four years old on the day.Charles was four when his mother was crowned and so I think we will see Archie. And I think it’ll be his first big Prince Archie moment."

A source previously told OK! that Harry and Meghan are said to be keen to attend the coronation as it is a key milestone for the family and one they wouldn’t want their children to miss.

“Archie’s birthday falls on May 6th, Coronation day, and the Sussexes want the family to recognise that,” the insider added.

“The Sussexes have asked for some kind of celebration or acknowledgement to be factored into the day’s plans to ensure that his fourth birthday won’t get lost during the momentous day.”

Meanwhile, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams exclusively told OK! earlier this week that Harry and Meghan have“no option” but to attend King Charles’ Coronation.

He added: “The only reason they get work – work for Netflix, for Spotify, work for Random House – is because they’re royals.

“Now if they were to emphasise their isolation by not attending a royal event, that's as important as a Coronation as well, it would be something that would adversely affect their contracts, I would have thought, or certainly the renewal of any contracts.

“So they’ve got to attend. They have no option but to come."

Harry was reported to have secured a£16 million, four-book deal with Penguin Random House – the publisher of his explosive memoirSpare.

Netflix reportedlypaid £88 million for the Sussexes’ controversialdocumentary as part of a multi-year contract.

And music streaming platform Spotify was said to have paid Harry and Meghan, 41, an estimated£18 million to produce and host podcasts.
