Naomi Campbell 's famous friends have hinted that they already knew she was preparing to become a mother.

Holding her baby daughter's feet in a sweet Instagram picture alongside a caption about "no greater love", the supermodel shocked and delighted fans by announcing she has become a mother for the first time at 50.

And it appears that the Streatham born icon had already discussed the exciting new chapter in her life with some of fashion's biggest names.

The likes of Vogue editor Edward Enninful and high-profile designer Marc Jacobs left gushing comments which alluded to them already knowing that Naomi was prepping to welcome a child.

Marc, 58, excitedly commented on Naomi's Instagram picture: "Oh my God!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are!

'What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around."

Meanwhile, Edward joyfully added: "Seeing the two of you together made my year. You will bring each other so much joy. @naomi."

Fashion stylist and editor Elizabeth Saltzman took to the comments to reveal she had already visited Naomi and her little one.

"Welcome to the family baby girl. Seeing you and your mama yesterday was pure joy," she wrote.

"I promise as an auntie to always be there to listen and hear you, to help and love you, to laugh and dance with you. So much love for you both!"

Meanwhile, Princess Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis commented: "She is here!"

Naomi has previously spoken of her desire to start a family, stating in a 2018 interview with Vogue: "I'd love to have kids. I don't discount anything in life. I love kids and always will.

"When I'm around children, I become a child myself. That's the little girl I don't ever want to lose."

In another chat about having children, Naomi, who has reportedly dated Liam Payne and Skepta in the past, revealed that her age did not concern her.

She told the Evening Standard in 2017: "I think about having children all the time."

Naomi continued: "Now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.

"I'll see what the universe brings me. For now, what the universe has delivered is very much in the spirit of a 'chosen family'."
